So What is ESG?

ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance.Ā  It is a framework used to measure the sustainability and ethical impact of a company.Ā  Investors are increasingly interested in ESG asĀ Companies who prioritise ESG are more likely to do well in the future and therefore make more money for the Investor. Letā€™s Break it downā€¦

Environmental (E): A company’s Impact on the planetā€”This can be their waste, emissions, energy use, and climate action. What steps have they taken to become more environmentally friendly?

Social (S): Their treatment of peopleā€”fairness, diversity, and community impact. How are their workers treated, how are they paid and what does their workforce look like?

Governance (G): How itā€™s runā€”ethical decisions, transparency, and accountability. What is the diversity like on their boards and has there been any controversies?
