Thank You for Supporting the Growing Future Assets Competition

An Open Letter to Schools and Educators across Scotland.

As the academic year draws to a close, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the schools and educators who played a pivotal role in guiding students through this year’s Growing Future Assets competition.

The competition challenges teams to research a company, with guidance from a professional working in investment, and to produce both an investment report and an elevator pitch video. As an extra-curricular activity, it requires time, initiative and enthusiasm – not only from the pupils, but from the staff who support them.

Thanks to your school’s involvement, your pupils had the opportunity to learn about the world of finance and investment, explore potential future careers, and develop valuable transferable skills such as critical thinking, teamwork, communication and confidence.

We are proud to share a recent article in TES magazine How Scottish schools are opening up financial careers to girls, which highlights the competition and the opportunities that Future Asset provides.

The outstanding contribution from educators across Scotland has helped make this year’s competition a success. We’re deeply grateful to your school community for making pupil participation possible and we very much hope your school will be involved again in 2025/6.

Wishing you a restful and well-deserved summer break.

With best wishes,

On behalf of Jen Mair

Chair, Future Asset Steering Group
