Our mission is to inform girls in Scottish schools about the investment management industry, enthuse them about careers in the sector, and widen the talent pipeline to improve diversity in the industry.

Our story so far...
2017
Our launch conference saw hundreds of girls coming to Edinburgh from Dumfries to Shetland to enjoy talks, workshops, and interactive experiences with women from various careers and professions. Jayne Ann Gadhia and former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon inspired girls and teachers alike!
2018
Edinburgh and Glasgow Roadshows introduced students to Future Asset - The Boardgame, managing a portfolio worth Ā£100,000
2019
Our second conference saw girls work with 99 volunteer Ambassadors in investing workshops, hear from financial journalist Iona Bain about taking control of your finances, and learned to speak with confidence with Business Voice Coach Susan Room.
2020
We pioneered the all-girl investing competition - Growing Future Assets! Winning team member, Ailey went on to study at Strathclyde University, intern with our member firm Rathbones, and became a competition Judge.
The Competition
2021
Following the success of our first competition, year 2 saw a 422% increase in teams! Students Beth, Erin and Amy interviewed female investors to produce investment career podcasts with Breaking Through Careers.
2022
Winners Lochaber and Larbert High Schools visited member firms and joined all finalists and judges at our Celebration Event at the Library of Mistakes
2023
Our 3rd competition saw us reach over 1000 students in Scotland. Awarded Highly Commended in the FT Adviser Diversity in Finance Awards 2023: Diversity & Inclusion Initiative of the Year award | Small firms category. The first Future Asset / Personal Assets Foundation Scholarship was awarded to former winner Emilie.

Meet the team

Helen Bradley

CEO

Having spent her career in education and development, Helen is passionate about enabling young people to realise their potential, achieve fulfilling careers and recognise how they can change the world for the better!

Before joining Future Asset in 2018, Helen spent 8 years at the Princeā€™s Trust ā€“ Scotland developing learning and development programmes with schools, youth work and community education. She also worked at Queen Margaret and Edinburgh universities on widening participation to higher education and careers outreach programmes.

Helen has a BA in Politics from the University of Leicester and a Masters in Social & Political Theory from the University of Edinburgh. She spends her spare time taxi-driving for her 3 children, dog walking and loves a bit of crafting.

Claire Black

Programme Coordinator

As a former senior marketing manager, Claire had a successful career in various roles in Financial Services before taking a career break to raise her three children. Her formal qualifications include a Post Graduate Diploma in European Business Administration and an MA in Politics and International Relations.

As a mother of two young daughters and an Aunty to ten nieces, Claire is passionate about initiatives such as Future Asset and opportunities to help develop and empower young women in Scotland. She enjoys walks with her dog, pilates, swimming, paddleboarding and reading.

Jemma McLean

Communication Coordinator

Jemma spent four years at in the Scottish Borders studying Marketing and recently graduated with an MA in Project Management from Heriot Watt University.Ā  She has experience in non-profit marketing and has worked with Scotland-based SMEs to help them develop their digital marketing strategies.Ā Whilst at school in Glasgow, Jemma took part in Career Ready and made it to the Young Enterprise Scottish Finals. This has made her a huge enthusiast for the difference extra-curricular activities can make to young women.

In her spare time, Jemma likes to read and explore Scotland.
