Our story so far...
Our launch conference saw hundreds of girls coming to Edinburgh from Dumfries to Shetland to enjoy talks, workshops, and interactive experiences with women from various careers and professions. Jayne Ann Gadhia and former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon inspired girls and teachers alike!
Edinburgh and Glasgow Roadshows introduced students to Future Asset - The Boardgame, managing a portfolio worth £100,000
Our second conference saw girls work with 99 volunteer Ambassadors in investing workshops, hear from financial journalist Iona Bain about taking control of your finances, and learned to speak with confidence with Business Voice Coach Susan Room.
We pioneered the all-girl investing competition - Growing Future Assets! Winning team member, Ailey went on to study at Strathclyde University, intern with our member firm Rathbones, and became a competition Judge.
The Competition
Following the success of our first competition, year 2 saw a 422% increase in teams! Students Beth, Erin and Amy interviewed female investors to produce investment career podcasts with Breaking Through Careers.
Winners Lochaber and Larbert High Schools visited member firms and joined all finalists and judges at our Celebration Event at the Library of Mistakes
Our 3rd competition saw us reach over 1000 students in Scotland. Awarded Highly Commended in the FT Adviser Diversity in Finance Awards 2023: Diversity & Inclusion Initiative of the Year award | Small firms category. The first Future Asset / Personal Assets Foundation Scholarship was awarded to former winner Emilie.
