Teacher Champion of the Year Award

What would we do without teachers!

Teacher Champions dedicate their time and energy to supporting students throughout the Competition period. This year, we were proud to work with over 100 teachers as part of the Growing Future Assets Investment Competition. We couldn’t do what we do without the support of teachers and schools, and thanks to them, we are enthusing young women about careers in financial services.

To celebrate their incredible contributions, we invited students and Competition Coaches to nominate their Teacher Champion. We were delighted to receive over 60 nominations, showcasing the incredible impact teachers have across the programme.

Winner: Sean Smith, Castlebrae Community Campus

Congratulations to Sean Smith from Castlebrae Community Campus, our very first Teacher Champion of the Year. Sean has worked with Future Asset for many years and consistently champions the programme, making a lasting difference to his students.

“Mr Smith is one of the kindest and most supportive teachers anyone could ask for, and the girls and I were incredibly fortunate to have him guiding us throughout this process. Because the competition took place during our prelims, we were extremely busy and under significant academic pressure. Despite this, we set internal deadlines for different parts of our PowerPoint, and Mr Smith was always there to support us. He would check in with a smile, share a joke, and gently remind us of our goals, making a stressful period much more manageable. Mr Smith is a great teacher who embodies a dedication to education that goes far beyond the classroom, directly supporting student well‑being, motivation, and future potential. He works hard to ensure that all students, regardless of background, have the opportunity to succeed.”

Special Recognition Award

Congratulations to Lenka Nagle from Kingussie High School, who received our Special Recognition Award in acknowledgement of her outstanding contribution.

Lenka has worked with Future Asset since 2022 and has supported several teams through to the finals. Lenka has also played a key role in supporting our NPA accreditation, enabling students to gain an SQA qualification through participation in the Competition.
