Code of Conduct for Young people

Future Asset, part of Didasko Education Company Limited

Code of Conduct for Young People

June 2025

Purpose

This Code of Conduct aims to make sure everyone who participates in projects and activities organised by Didasko Education Company (including Future Asset, Leavers’ Money Skills and the Library of Mistakes) knows what is expected of them and feels safe, respected and valued.

Didasko’s project staff must make sure that young people taking part in our services have seen, understood, and agreed to follow the Code of Conduct, and that they understand the consequences of inappropriate behaviour.

We expect people who take part in our services to always behave appropriately, this includes online.

Basic Principles

This code of behaviour aims to:

  • identify acceptable and unacceptable behaviour
  • encourage cooperation, honesty, fairness, and respect
  • create an environment where your self-esteem, self-respect and self-confidence will grow
  • encourage you to recognise and respect the rights of others
  • encourage you to take responsibility for your own behaviour
  • help resolve conflicts and make it clear what will happen if you decide not to follow the code

Dos and Don’ts

You should:

You shouldn’t:

·  cooperate with others

·    be disrespectful to anyone else

·  listen to others

·    bully other people (online or offline)

·  have good manners

·    behave in a way that could be intimidating

·  treat everyone with respect

·    be abusive towards anyone

·  take responsibility for your own behaviour

·   take screenshots or photographs of people at events without permission, or of screens in online events on your phones or device

·  follow this code of behaviour and other rules (including the law)

·    bring any alcohol, drugs, or any other prohibited item into any personal or face-to-face session

·  talk to your teacher or Future Asset / Leavers’ Money Skills / Library of Mistakes staff member about anything that worries or concerns you

·  join in and have fun!

What happens if I decide not to follow the Code of Conduct?

This Code of Conduct is part of our process for making sure everyone who takes part in our services receives the support they need.

If you behave in a way that doesn’t follow our Code of Conduct, our staff or volunteers will remind you and ask you to comply with it. They will give you an opportunity to change your behaviour.

If you continue not to follow the Code of Conduct after your first reminder, or if your behaviour is more serious, you will be given a formal warning by the person running your activity. They will make a record about what happened and inform your teacher and parents or carers if this is appropriate. We may also decide that a sanction is appropriate such as restricting you from taking part in activities.

Child Protection Procedures

If any member of staff or volunteer becomes concerned that your behaviour suggests you may need protection or that you may present a risk of harm to other children and young people, they will follow our child protection procedures. This may involve making a referral to the local authority.

If child protection procedures are necessary, we will talk this through with you, your teacher and / or your parents / carers as soon as possible, unless doing so would put you in danger or interfere with a police investigation.

The Role of Parents and Carers

Didasko’s financial education projects for young people, Future Asset and Leavers’ Money Skills, work primarily through schools and with teachers, educators, and careers advisers. In addition, we see parents and carers as valuable partners in promoting positive behaviour and will involve them as appropriate.
