Investment Management Not Investment Banking... what's the difference?
It’s super common to mix up Investment Management and Investment Banking—the names sound similar, but they’re actually two very different things.
At Future Asset we focus on Investment Management. But before we go any further, let’s take a quick look at the difference between the two, so it all makes a bit more sense.
Investment Management
Investment Management is all about helping people and organisations grow their money over time. This could mean investing in things like companies and building a plan to meet long-term goals. It’s focused on steady growth and smart decision-making to manage risk and reward.
Investment Banking
On the other hand, Investment Banking is more about big financial deals. Investment bankers help companies raise money, buy or merge with other businesses, or even sell shares to the public for the first time. It’s fast-paced and focused on big transactions rather than long-term investing.
